Newmont Services Overview

At Newmont, we offer a range of specialized services at three different sites in Australia and one in Papua New Guinea:

1. Post Reline Re-Torque Elimination

  • This service increases site production by approximately 10 hours per reline.

2. Mill Flange Bolt Tensioning & Bolt Elongation Measurement During Construction

  • This is a core service for us, saving our clients days or even weeks during the construction phase.

3. Critical Mill Flange Bolt Tension Measurement and Adjustment During Shutdowns

  • This service maintains mill health for the life of the mine. When testing isn't utilized, failures in this area have cost sites weeks of lost production.

4. Redesign of Critical Bolting to Increase Life Span

  • With over 30 years bolting experience having witnessed many problems we can often provide designed solutions to existing issues.

5. Primary Crusher Hold Down Bolt Hydraulic Tensioning and Ultrasonic Bolt Tension Measurement

  • Additionally, carrying out ultrasonic measurements when initially tensioning these bolts allows us to store the "when built" results. At any time in the future, we can quickly re-monitor them to see if any in-service relaxation occurs. This enables our clients to either sleep easy or make considered plans to adjust them.

6. Elimination of Liner Bolt Failures

  • When a site experienced issues, we carried out ultrasonic bolt stress measurements that showed both: a) What the current process achieves. b) How much relaxation occurred during the reline and after the mill had run for 1 or 2 days.

  • This vital information allowed the site to make informed decisions that eliminated these failures.
